Nightly News for 11/15

One of the biggest weights of my job is often having information that is partial or is yet to come. Do you share this information and add to people's anxiety? Wait until there are more details? There is never an easy answer. Over the last two weeks there has been some discussion around boundary changes among district folk, the school board, the SEGC, principals etc. One of the things that has come up is pausing the work of the last 18 months. I want to share with you that it was brought to my attention late this afternoon that this is on the agenda for  tomorrow night's school board meeting. I know there are varying opinions on staff in regards to this shift. I have my own opinions, but as the leader of the building want to ensure you are all aware of this. Morning Minute for June 11th

We will be on a PM Assembly schedule tomorrow, Tuesday the 11th. This is a shift from our original plans. I sent an email out earlier this afternoon to let everyone know we will be canceling the building wide WIN time. We did not have much entered in the spreadsheet designed to determine where students should be receiving support. My apologies to those of you who did make efforts to make this happen.  We will be reviewing what is in the spreadsheet and may be able to pull students who need a quiet space to catch up on things. If you have any questions in regards to this please feel free to direct them to me. We will have assigned seating for tomorrow's assembly. We will dismiss classes using the intercom. We will begin releasing classes around 2:40. Students should leave their backpacks/belongings in classrooms. To my knowledge there are no groups being pulled out tomorrow. Monday the 3rd 6th Grade Chromebook Turn In Tuesday the 4th 7th Grade Chromebook Turn In Last Staff Meeting @ 4:00 AVID Awards & Family Night @ 6:00 Wednesday the 5th 8th Grade Chromebook Turn In MIP Capstone Night @ 5:00 Thursday the 6th 8th Grade Beach Trip (Leave @ 10:00) Last Day of SUN Programming Friday the 7th 8th Graders Return We are heading into the final two weeks. This week will be busy with several night events and Chromebook turn in. Please hold to building and classroom expectations. The more normalcy we can provide the better. We do not have any alternative schedules this week so hopefully that keeps things "normal".   We will not hold PLCS or Kid Chats this week.
