Nightly News 11/18

  • Tomorrow is a FRIDAY. It is a full moon tonight. Kids are off a bit because of the break...we are off a bit because we are all feeling pushed to our limits. Take some time tonight to relax. We got this.
  • Our Lock Out Drill is tomorrow at 2:30. Students should remain inside the school and things should be "business as usual" within the building. We do ask students remain in the room as much as possible but in the event a student has to use the restroom etc. they may go. If you have a recess at this time we ask that you are in by 2:25 to alleviate any issues. Per the protocol if you were outside we would bring you in. Teachers should be alert to any situations in the building and outside their room. We do ask you take attendance. If you have a student missing please call the office and let them know. Admin/Support staff will secure the premises and will let everyone know when the drill is over. 
  • I will potentially be here from 7:45-8:45 tomorrow morning and will then be leaving for an appointment with a return time of around 10:30. 
  • K-5 teachers a copy of your conference forms should have been turned in to the office. Here is a short checklist:
  1. Copy of conference forms turned into the office
  2. Conference reminder sent home. Monica will place a copy in your box. This has the link and dial in information on it. We strongly encourage you to send these home and if at all possible highlight the appropriate information (link/dial in info). You may also send the conference reminder notes (available in several languages) from the folder as well.  
  3. Parent Compact- This was put in your boxes in various languages. Please send one home with the conference form.  I will be sending information out to parents, along with other conference information, on Sunday evening. Middle school teachers hand this out to students in your Homeroom/1st period class tomorrow. Please have students put them in their binders with their planners so we can have parents look there for it. These may be sent back in, but we are not required to collect them this year. If you receive them back please put them in the manila envelope they came in.We are being asked to ensure parents get a copy and we make an attempt to educate them about this. 
  4. Do a quick check of parents who are not yet scheduled. What are your plans to reach out to them? If you have time tomorrow send a personal email with the link to the sign up, make a phone call and support them in making an appointment. 

  • Here is a link to all of our Community Partners. We will continue to update as needed. Middle school teachers we hope to hold a meeting in December with all partners present to go over students, programming, etc.

Morning Minute for June 11th

We will be on a PM Assembly schedule tomorrow, Tuesday the 11th. This is a shift from our original plans. I sent an email out earlier this afternoon to let everyone know we will be canceling the building wide WIN time. We did not have much entered in the spreadsheet designed to determine where students should be receiving support. My apologies to those of you who did make efforts to make this happen.  We will be reviewing what is in the spreadsheet and may be able to pull students who need a quiet space to catch up on things. If you have any questions in regards to this please feel free to direct them to me. We will have assigned seating for tomorrow's assembly. We will dismiss classes using the intercom. We will begin releasing classes around 2:40. Students should leave their backpacks/belongings in classrooms. To my knowledge there are no groups being pulled out tomorrow. Monday the 3rd 6th Grade Chromebook Turn In Tuesday the 4th 7th Grade Chromebook Turn In Last Staff Meeting @ 4:00 AVID Awards & Family Night @ 6:00 Wednesday the 5th 8th Grade Chromebook Turn In MIP Capstone Night @ 5:00 Thursday the 6th 8th Grade Beach Trip (Leave @ 10:00) Last Day of SUN Programming Friday the 7th 8th Graders Return We are heading into the final two weeks. This week will be busy with several night events and Chromebook turn in. Please hold to building and classroom expectations. The more normalcy we can provide the better. We do not have any alternative schedules this week so hopefully that keeps things "normal".   We will not hold PLCS or Kid Chats this week.
